PayPal review – Is PayPal the best choice for your eWallet? Find out inside.

What is PayPal?

Of all the eWallet options available, PayPal is probably the best known and most widely used, at least in the UK.

It's accepted on millions of websites, from Amazon to the smallest online operation, and increasingly it can even be used on the High Street to pay for meals and purchases.

As befits a business the size of PayPal, their website is slick and efficient, with the first selection being between Personal, Business and Partners and Developers. Of course one of the top benefits of PayPal is that is accepted worldwide in both online and traditional business.

For those of us primarily interested in a payment system for general use online, the first stop is the tab labeled Personal on the PayPal website. This leads to a page where you can find all essential information relating to the service, as well as links to get you started or investigate further.

You'll also find links allowing you to sign in (if you already have an account) or to a sign up page, which will take you through the simple process of opening your account.

Hitting the sign up button takes you to a page with two options: personal and business. You'll want a personal account if you just want to use PayPal to make deposits to your casino accounts or to pay for gifts, goods and services online. If you want to be able to take PayPal payments in any volume as well, then a business account is the way to go.

Assuming you just want to use your account to make payments and deposits, then the process is simple and straightforward, with your personal contact and security details being requested, and some details regarding the bank account or debit card from which you're going to make payments into your account.

There's a simple checking procedure, with PayPal making a small payment into your chosen account, which then allows them to make sure you're real and that your account details are correct. This can take a couple of days, but is usually faster.

Is PayPal safe?

One of the best features of PayPal is that even without a business account you can have the money paid into your account by someone else, so if, for example, you pay for a meal out with a friend, you can request a payment for their share and they can simply pay into your PayPal account.

Online transactions are free, unless they involve transferring money between different currencies, so you should find that using PayPal won't cost you an arm and a leg.

And on that note, you should know that if you use your PayPal account for a transaction involving the chance of currencies, you can now use PayPal as the currency exchange provider which gives you back 2% in cash! This benefit is unique among eWallets.

PayPal also offer a ‘one-click' service, which some retailers and outlets use, which allows you to make purchases even more quickly and easily.

For traders it might not be the cheapest of options, but for us consumers, PayPal is probably one of the very best payment services around.

For all players who prefer using PayPal as their main deposit and withdrawals method at online casinos and bingo rooms, we have compiled a list of the top recommended online casinos and gaming sites for UK players that take PayPal.

You can be sure these casinos offer a great choice of games, generous bonuses, progressive Jackpots and ongoing fun. They're 100% safe under UK law regulation so you're good to go.
